Acts 3:19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.

In general, people like to justify and make excuses for their actions. We frequently hear statements blaming circumstances like: “I’m this way because of my upbringing, or because of the abuse I suffered, or because my parents never told me they loved me, or I didn’t have parents”. Maybe you’ve heard statements blaming others like, “they shouldn’t have done that, or no one treats me this way and gets away with it”. If we’re honest, both examples are simply excuses to justify our sin. Sinning by having a mean disposition, to getting high, to outbursts of anger, to getting drunk, to not acting in love, to hurting someone…still all sin. The year has changed but Peter’s message has not. We too must repent of our sins and turn to God, so that our sins can be wiped away. Make a 180 degree turn from any bad behavior, habits, choices that are not godly, that’s true repentance. God is a loving father and will forgive, he knows your heart.
